Knowledge & Attitudes towards Genomic Medicine & Research

This ongoing cross sectional qualitative study aims to explore the understanding, knowledge and attitudes towards genomic research and medicine among research participants in district of Colombo, Sri Lanka.

As this study is the first of its kind in Sri Lanka, it will make a platform to consider ways in which effective communication with the Sri Lankan public about genomic research might be developed.

Furthermore, findings may have future implications in producing national ethical guidelines for genomic research, thereby allowing ethical ‘omics’ research to be conducted in Sri Lanka.
